About Dave Pratt, DPT, OCS, CSCS

Professional Practice

I specialize in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy, treating general orthopedics with advanced training in athletic populations.

Educational Background

I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Midwestern University in 2013 after completing my bachelor's degree in kinesiology and exercise science at Northern Illinois University. My experience as a Division I athlete during my undergraduate studies gives me direct understanding of the biomechanics of sport and the principles of high-performance training.

Clinical Philosophy

My clinical approach draws from leaders in both rehabilitation and performance training. In strength and conditioning, I follow the work of Cal Dietz, Frans Bosch, Chris Korfist, and Mel Siff. In physical therapy, I've been influenced by Shirley Sahrmann, Gary Gray, and Tom Dalonzo-Baker. I combine evidence-based practice with movement principles from both fields to treat the whole person, not just the injury.

Credentials & Experience

I hold the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification and the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential. I've served as a clinical manager for seven years, bringing leadership experience to patient care and clinical operations.
